1. What data do we collect?

1.1 We will collect personal data from you when look to rehome an animal with us, or adopt from us. This personal data will include your name, address, contact details such as email and telephone numbers, and details of the people in your household. We may also ask for some additional non-personal information such as the hours you and/or others in your household are at home and the type of work you do.
1.2 If you are on our mailing lists but have not sought to rehome or adopt we will collect sufficient personal data in order for us to send you the mailings, namely your email and/or physical address.

2. How we use this data

2.1 The data we collect at 1.1 above is in order for us to ensure that all animals coming into and leaving our care are appropriately looked after, both while in our care and in their future homes. For example, we would generally not rehome a nervous dog needing a patient and experienced new owner with a family with several small children. We would not rehome a cat needing outside access to someone living on a busy road with no suitable safe space.
2.2 We may contact you for further details concerning an animal rehomed with us. If you have adopted, we may contact you to check that all is well with you and your new pet.
2.3 We do not sell your data nor do we pass it to other charities. We do not use automated profiling in our decision-making.

3. Security

3.1 We take reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, alteration, or misuse of the data you provide to us.
3.2 Access to our database is on a restricted basis.
3.3 Rehoming data is generally deleted after three years, but is kept for four years, for tax compliance purposes, if Gift Aided.

4. Cookies

4.1 We do not use cookies on our website.
