BREED: Collie Cross (3 Legged)
SEX: Female (Neutered)
AGE: Aprox. 4 Years
SIZE: Medium/Large
Molly is very special, and we are looking for a very special person for her. Originally handed into a dog pound as a stray with a horribly injured front leg, nothing was done to help this poor dog or to alleviate the agony she must have been enduring, until she came to the notice of an animal rescue worker who happened to be at the pound to help another dog. Shocked that nothing was being done for Molly, she immediately decided to rescue her from that situation and get her to the attention of a Vet. Unfortunately, the damage and subsequent neglect of Molly's leg was so severe that there was nothing to be done to save it, and amputation was the only option.
Molly is quite exceptional, because despite the pain and suffering she must have endured, she remains a happy, easy-going and confident dog. She has been in a foster home whilst recovering from her surgery, and has mixed happily with other dogs and with the fosterer's dog-savvy children, and basically been the perfect house guest. She is an easy dog to handle, and a very easy dog to love! And she certainly deserves a very loving home. Being what is often termed as a "tripaw" doesn't hold her back in any way - she just gets on with enjoying life now.
So, if you think your life would accommodate a lovely three-legged friend, and if you, like us, see Molly as being a great example of the concept of "perfect imperfection", Molly is now at DBARC and looking forward to finding a loving, permanent home.
